President Trump wrote that he is fulfilling the responsibilities for which he was elected—specifically, removing individuals he describes as criminals from the United States. Trump praises his team, saying they are doing an outstanding job, but he says that legal obstacles are hindering their work at every step, including decisions from the U.S. Supreme Court. Although he states that he deeply respects the Supreme Court, he feels that its recent rulings show they do not support his efforts to deport violent criminals and terrorists to their home countries, such as Venezuela, or to other nations.
Trump emphasizes that the people he wants to deport entered the United States illegally. He claims that the courts are being influenced or pressured by left-wing groups, whom he accuses of “playing the Ref”—meaning they are manipulating the system or referees (in this case, the judiciary) to get favorable outcomes.
He singles out Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, stating that Alito is correct in wanting to end the current halt (pause) on deportations. Trump argues that Justice Alito’s stance is the right one.
Trump then warns that if these alleged criminals are not removed from the country, the very existence of America is at risk. He insists that it is impossible to provide every person facing deportation with a full trial, because the sheer number of cases would require an unworkable amount of time—he estimates 200 years—and a huge expansion of the judicial system, with hundreds of thousands of trials needed for the hundreds of thousands of people he intends to deport.
He concludes by calling the situation “ridiculous,” and reaffirms his signature slogan: “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
