President Trump: Truth Social Post

President Trump recently posted the following message on Truth Social, addressing the challenges faced by American farmers during international trade negotiations, particularly with China. President Trump began by praising American farmers, calling them “GREAT,” and emphasizing their importance in the country’s economy and international standing. He noted that American farmers, due to their crucial role, are often the first to be affected when the United States engages in trade negotiations or disputes with other countries, particularly major economic rivals such as China.

Trump reflected on his first term as president, noting that during the trade dispute with China (often referred to as the U.S.-China Trade War), Chinese policies and tariffs negatively affected American agricultural producers. He acknowledged that these farmers endured significant hardship during the negotiations. Trump said that he asked these “Patriots” to be patient and promised that a favorable trade agreement would be reached.

He then stated that, as a result of the eventual trade deal with China, he directed $28 billion in aid payments to American farmers to compensate them for losses and to reward their perseverance. Trump described this as a “great transaction” for the United States.

However, Trump criticized President Joe Biden (“Crooked Joe Biden”) and his administration for failing to enforce the terms of the trade agreement with China once he left office. He claimed that, under Biden, China did not fully honor its commitments, purchasing only a portion of the American goods—particularly agricultural products—that it had agreed to buy. According to Trump, China had “ZERO respect” for the Biden administration, which led them to disregard the agreements made during Trump’s presidency.

Trump also mentioned a recent development where China allegedly backed out of a large purchase agreement with Boeing, the American aerospace company, deciding not to accept delivery of aircraft they had previously committed to buying. Trump suggested this was another example of China’s lack of respect for U.S. leadership under Biden.

He closed his message by declaring that the United States will always stand up for and protect its farmers, reinforcing his support for the agricultural community.
